The third episode in The Dark Seas of Infinity's Reeke Manor series.
Session Date: 8 Apr 2026
Scenario
Continuing from session 2, Sir George Reeke has invited several guests to dinner on 31 Oct 1927 at his secluded Tudor manor located in England.
A dinner party gone wrong. There's been a death. There's been two deaths. The game is on at the Reeke Manor. And before we knew it, the library was trashed, an 8-Ball wandered off, a rifle was ignored, a tunnel discovered, the cops arrived, a painting developed a hole, and the gardener lost his head. Quite literally in fact, but insanity can do that to a fellow.

Moments of Note
We start off with another recap where Jessie stated that he left some people hanging. Not literally, but that did leave a few of us momentarily startled and scared.
We're off and very quickly Magnus and Scarlet hit it off. K-i-s-s-i-n-g ... No, no kissing really took place.
A drunken Colonel is heard and seen tearing apart the trophy room. In the process a rather queer, preserved object rolls free from its cloth cover. It has scales, fur, feathers. What? No one cares.
Patrick comments that someone must have gotten busy with the glue.
So Jessie now states that Nickey is done and dusted...yes, admittedly, another poor choice of words.
Elizabeth finds a useless snake skin which crumbles when she goes to pick it up. So much for finding a weapon. If only she had, I don't know, held a rifle in her hands moments earlier. Ah yes, the cigarettes were more important at the time.
At last the first psychology roll has been requested by Jessie, and Scott has a hard success with this. The Professor is able to determine the bout of madness that the Captain is experiencing.
Speaking of the Captain, he begins dragging Mr. Greene's corpse toward the lake. The surprising twist is that the Professor starts to help him.
Sadie let's these "deranged lunatics" do their thing and continues to the generator, where she finds an axe has been embedded into the machinery. Besides smelling the sent of fuel in the air, Sadie hears a scratching from the doorway and sees two glowing eyes. What could it be?
Relax because this image quickly vanishes and so Sadie ignores what she saw and instead tries to remove the axe, but she is startled by a lightning strike and stumbles backward, unsuccessful at removing the axe. You would think she would then go axe someone for help.
In the end, Sadie just heads back to the manor after realizing a horse is missing, but not learning much more than that. Not much bothers this chick, for instance, knowing an escapee from a mental hospital is still on the loose. Will she ever tell anyone about this?
We have another first when Jason spends LUCK to pass a roll so his character can learn about a painting. thatta boy, J.
Magnus also examines the desk in the study and uses his painting tools (ahem!) to open a locked drawer. The paper he finds has two names on it for himself, why? He also finds a very strange and creepy letter. Anyway, he takes a moment to clear his head and moves on to the library.
There is a brief pause in the action as we take a side trip to explain what Americans mean by "cursive" to our resident Brit, Patrick. Yeah, to Patrick this is just normal writing. Things are so much simpler across the pond, aren't they?
Sadie arrives back to the conservatory after her failures at the generator and is taken out by ... wait for it ... wait for it ... pollen. She's unconscious and as Scott remarks, "this must be punishment for not helping out Capt. Jones."
We now have the trio of Magnus, Elizabeth, and Elyse in the library, along with Scarlet. Is Al-khouri in the library? Is he alive? Dead? "It's Schrödinger's Al-khouri," says Jessie.
Roz jokes with Jason to not mind the blood, Jason says, "Magnus is okay with the blood because he's been to a lot of parties before, but not quite like this one."
It's the night of firsts as we now have our first fumble when Elizabeth is unable to listen all that well.
Oh, and Scarlet takes off to go upstairs. She shouldn't, but she does. Just saying.
There is a safe in the library. It's in the wall. It is locked by a combination. What is the combination? No one knows it. What! Is! In! That! Safe!!
Professor Cole's constitution takes a hit because of his struggles with helping Capt. Jones dragging a corpse. That's what happens when your hands are busy holding a flashlight in one and a gun in the other. I thought Capt. Jones was the one who went insane.
Prof. Cole is unsuccessful in getting through to the Captain so he wonders off toward the generator, rescues the axe, and proceeds on towards a shed. Glutton for punishment, this guy.
"Stay out of my shed," jokes Jessie.
Mean while, the trio hears a startling scream and runs towards it. With a common horror film trope now executed, they come upon Colonel Mustard cutting into a deceased Scarlet. Not much of a big deal to the ladies, but Magnus is our second character at Reeke Manor to experience the Madness.
In his Madness, Magnus sees a light come from Scarlet, she then speaks to Magnus and tells him about an angel being bound to the manor. However, the light simply flies off and vanishes in the lake...you know, as lights coming from dead people tend to do.
Did you know that Elyse is armed? Well she brandishes her weapon and fires at the Colonel, missing him and hitting the leg of a cabinet. Better luck next time, ace.
Back to Sadie, who is not in the conservatory, or is she? Right now, though, it seems she is floating high above the lounge and is overlooking the detective and the maid...but wait! The detective seemingly does not know French despite his French accent. Curious indeed. He also probably believes the French created fries. And toast. And horns. And kissing.
So it turns out that Elyse, while being a bad shot with a gun, is great at throwing. She successfully knocks out the Colonel with that 8-ball she pocketed earlier. I bet she rules at dodge ball.
Don't forget about Capt. Jones, who has thrown the body of a dead Mr. Greene off a dock into the lake. Mission: success. Bloody Germans.
In the shed Prof. Cole is swarmed by moths so Jason draws a moth. (Hopefully this picture will be forth coming.)
As Cole approaches the house, a bear trap activates and snaps up in front of him. That was close as it seems luck was on the professors side. Wait a minute. First the moths then the bear trap? What is the Keeper trying to do to the Professor? Inquiring minds want to know. Okay, Scott wants to know.
This ends the evening, and as for the locations of our peeps: Magnus, Elizabeth, and Elyse are in the trophy room; Prof. Cole made it to the Billiard Room; Sadie Foxlove's body (don't worry, she is still alive) is in the Conservatory; Sadie's mind is seemingly floating about the manor; Capt. Jones is still outside, slowly, very slowly, working his way back to the house; and Al-khouri? *shrugs*
NPCs? Let's see...Reeke's dead in the dining room; Greene's dead and in a lake; Scarlet's dead in the Trophy Room along with an unconscious Colonel Mustard; Madam Blanc and the detective are still in the lounge; the constable is in the dining room; the cook is in the kitchen, and who knows where the widow, Juliet Reeke, is hanging out; same goes for Mr. Woodsworth.
"Someone must have gotten busy with the glue."
