Second episode in Dark Seas of Infinity's Operation: Hound Dog mini-series, a Delta Green story.
Session Date: 8 July 2026
Scenario
It's September 1996 and a group of Delta Green agents arrive at the FBI Headquarters in Knoxville, TN. They are briefed on the crime spree of a man named Billy Ray Spivey, and then sent to Groversville, TN as FBI agents investigating possible drug ties. Groversville is small town in the central part of the state, where reports of strange UFO activity has been "reported."
What they know so far is that Spivey disappeared for two days and has no recollection of what happened. The muscles in his arms and legs has been replaced with strange non-human tissue through several tiny incisions which gave him vastly improved strength. It took four gun shots to bring him down, but the wounds have apparently healed. Spivey has also brutally killed two people, and our investigators are charged with discovering what is behind the changes this young man has undergone.

Episode Log
The episode begins right where the last one ended, our investigators exiting the motel's office. Shortly there after they receive a call from Special Agent Derringer informing the group that Agent Ironwood is being recalled back to the office. Sounds like someone was about to fail several sanity checks.
Following that phone call, Agent Yarnman shares with the other two more information about the man who saw him take the pictures off the wall at the restaurant. Of course the description was pretty generic and could be just about anyone in this town.
A cloth is spotted at the bottom of a door way to one motel room. When one agent knocks on the door, a blond, pale woman is seen looking through the window of the adjacent room. I bet she was really hoping some take out had arrived.
Contact is made with the lady in the room, the Agents get her first name, and she seems curious when there is mention of the "package." Hopefully this package isn't whispering anything about a King in Yellow.
Scott fumbles a roll and thus Agent Yarnman fully believes this person is nothing but a fan girl of Scott Adams. She's probably really a shape-shifting horror, but sure...let's go with fan girl.
Agent Kala goes and gets food for the motel woman. Of course if she turns out to be a villain then it won't be food that will need putting down.
Agent Sarah manages to collect some water samples that turn up to be clean. So the water is fine, cool. Hopefully those collection tubes didn't start screaming or do anything horrific.
Agent Yarnman does several things in his hotel room out of pure paranoia. Did he look in the closet? What if he did and saw another him doing the same things?
A request to have a wellness check done on Scott Adams doesn't happen. Or perhaps the deputy who performed the check decided they needed to flee the town after seeing what they saw.
In the morning, Agent Kala consumed large amounts of coffee. She probably drinks the coffee to deny her nightmares, but needs those nightmares to justify the coffee consumption.
Scott Adams background check comes back with only a couple of arrests for trespassing. It seems his motto isn't "the truth is out there" but rather, "the signs are there to be ignored."
Angel Spivey interview reveals her son's girlfriend is named Jane Allen. The agents find this curious. Other than that, the Agents learn she wasn't present when Billy Ray attacked his father, her husband, and that he likes to hang with his friends at the reservoir.
Interviews with Billy Ray's friends reveal the same thing about the reservoir, that Billy Ray just got hired at Merle's Auto and Body, and that Jane Allen's dad is an alderman called Buck Allen.
Interview with Alderman Merle (town big shot) reveals the town council is busy dealing with TV production crews, the Spivey incident, and taking care of county tax stuff. He also mentions the reservoir. That's three for three on this reservoir thing. Agents, don't go there...it's a trap.
The agents decide to head back to Merle's Shut-Eye to speak with Jane, the lady in the hotel room. We conclude with them pulling back into the parking lot.
